New tank setup - 180G (pics) and thank you to seller (Southern Boy)

I just wanted to post up a few pictures of the transition from one tank (100g tenecor bow front) to the new 180 gallon setup.

Before I get to the pictures I have to thank the forum (RC and ORCA) for being a terrific source of valuable information/inspiration and being the best way to get in touch with honest and enthusiastic people involved in this hobby.

I purchased the tank from this thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1198058

and we eventually worked out a deal where Devin (s/c Southern Boy) and his buddy Chad would bring up the new tank and do the install PLUS tank my old tank in partial trade.

They located a deal on live sand for me, finished the stand, provided new lighting, spent approx. 10 hours on setup, and even trailered 150G of RO/DI water from Ft. Pierce to ORLANDO!!! Talk about going the extra mile :D :D

I can't say enough about these guys and would never second guess a purchase from them. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Devin and Chad - I can't thank you enough. The new tank is awesome.

With that said... on to the pics

really like the stand. Gonna make a canopy to match?
I'm getting a 180 tomorrow. Can't wait, it's like being an excited kid again.
Lookin good. :)

Jon, did you take your fish out of the old tank and put them in the new tank right after setting it up? Did you cycle the new tank at all? I am getting ready to do this as well so I am wondering what you did.

Sue - since we took all the sand, rocks, water (100g), and filter media from the old tank we figured everything would be ok. We mixed and added about 90-100G more RO/DI water to make up the difference.

So far, everyone seems fine. Everything I test for has been consistent with the old tank. I did however lose my starfish, 1 cleaner shrimp and my xenia after the switch :(

I am moving in two weeks so the tank will be coming apart again, but I hope to not have to add some much new water.

Thanks. I'm not sure yet what I'm doing about a canopy. I wanted to suspend the lights over the tank - but I might also just get matching trim and hide the lights.

I prefer to have the lights suspended so they are out of the way, kind of a PITA now to move them when I need to get in the tank.

I am still getting used to the size of the new tank - it's awesome though, you'll love it! :D
