New tank setup question

Im setting up my 120 gal tank. Here are some of the specs on my setup which I hope will help in answering my questions.

-Mega Flow Model 4 sump.
-Turbo Sea 1270 Pump
-1" lines for Drain Pipes and plumbing
-3/4" used for Return Pipes
-Ball Valve intstalled

The problem Im having is that if I run the ball valve wide open I get a continous "burp" in the sump were Im getting a lot of air dumping into the sump. It happens about every 5-10 seconds. If i dial down the ball valve it stops.
I want to run the system wide open to get the most current that I can..Is there something that I can do to eliminate the "burp"?
EX: adjust the height of my drain pipes in the overflows?
add, remove water to the tank?

is there a air hole in the top cap this will help the air to escape out the top of the pipe instead of through your sump, ya can also use a filter sock I use one as well!!
