I am setting up a new seahorse tank. First let me say I have been reading and learning a lot and have not purchased any animals yet.
I have purchased a 50 gallon hex with a wet/dry filter in the back that also included a stand and canopy but no lights.
2 questions:
1)
Lighting... I am looking at purchasing the Marineland Reef Capable LED lighting system 24-37". Can anybody make a recommendation as to if this will be enough (or to much light)?
It's hard to judge what is needed as this is a deep tank. I would like to house some macro algae and maybe some NPS types. The tank will also have some sand and rock as well.
2)
How much circulation... so I have a 600 GPH return pump that will return through the chiller before entering the tank. I also have a small pwr head I thought I would place down towards the bottom of the tank opposite the return line. Is this adequate, to much or not enough water movement for this tank?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
Erik
