New tank stinking up house

I just started to cycle my 150 gallon tank 5 days ago. It came with live rock and sand and all the accessories. All of the bristle worms crawled out of the rock and died. Now the track smells bad and the house stinks of a fishing pier! Any advice to improve the water quality to reduce the odor it's creating? Thx!

No need to add bacteria. You already have it in your system from the live rock. Check your ammonia, nitrites & nitrates level. Let the tank cycle on it own, be patience & open your windows:beer:

I'm always skeptical of bacteria in a bottle..
BUT I tried Microbacter 7 (MB7) and believe I saw positive results from it.
I started adding the recommended "maintenance" dose while carbon dosing and within weeks no longer needed to carbon dose and the tank has maintained very low nitrates without any dosing now.. I do routinely do another maintenance dose of MB7. Prior to that my nitrates were basically stuck at 10ppm with carbon dosing alone.. Now they are <2 and staying there..
In fact during those few weeks I was noticing excessive bacterial snot and it go to the point where even 1ml of vinegar would cause strings of bacteria all over..

Is my experience conclusive/a guarantee that it works.. Not really it could have been from other things/tank maturing,etc.... But I would purchase it again..
