new tank

tank looks good. Hey, i have a Coralife Superskimmer 65 complete with pump and all you are more than welcome to borrow indefinatly. I just stopped using it. It worked well on my tank, but due to my stand, it was a PITA to clean and empty so IM just decided to go without. anyways, like I said, you are more than welcome to use it untill you get another one. Ill be home this coming saturday. I live in Smyrna/mboro area.

as for the devil (damsel) fish, get it out. they are fast, and hard to catch and can be downright evil once then get locked into a tank. I ahd a breeding pair and talk about little junkyard dogs. WOW.

how long you had water in the tank? it looks good. I like the way you have the rock.

lol, well, got him out, put him in the sump, now hes gone, lol, i think the pump ate him, lol, im glad i hated him for picking on my pretty maroon. anyways, the live rock, around 75 lbs is from mikes tank and is pretty aged, covered in coralline, and the water has been in there for around 5 days now and is crystal clear and looks great, the tank went through a mini cycle and i believe is done now, mike, there is like a 6 inch bristle worm in the rock, lol, it is pretty neat, hopefully he is doing a good job with left over food and such! thanks for the comments and pickup man i pmed you thanks!

mike, i also wanted to add, the diversity of life on the rock you gave me is great, i have found various and alot of species of star fish, several stomatella's, some bristle worms, pods, and a type of mushroom that people often mistake for an anemone, it is clear with yellow ball ends, sometimes called ball anemones but arent anemones at all.. well, also alot of pods, just wanted to let you know that, again, thanks for everything! ill post some pics later now that the water is prestine, also, picked up some chaeto the other day for the sump.

That rock was beautiful and we were so sorry to see that tank come down..it was just settling in. Wish I had the 220 up when the rock was available. I would have taken it in a heartbeat!

glad the devil fish is out. they can be terrible little pests. keep in mind that the maroons can get pretty mean. I have a mated pair and the female is a royal *****! but she leaves the other fish alone and just bites me! very cool fish though. as for the cycles, im sure you know that you will have several more along the way up to at least a year out. there are many phases to the tank. only after a year do they get really stable. at least thats my experience. I have had my tank for about 9 years and at this point, and only in the last few years has it been absolutely AWESOME. below is a Photo of it from a while back. I need to go thru and re-document it and get some more pics. i shot you back a PM. Stay safe!
