New Tanks........dont Know What To Do With Them Though?????

Hello my fellow reefers i need some imaginary imput about these brand used tanks i picked up.....heres a little info on them....


i got them from a LFS i used to work at here in NM, i talked the owner down from $100 per tank to $50 for BOTH.... i figured 50 bucks....Y NOT?

They were originally built for another LFS here in NM that closed down about 3 years ago.... since then they have been in storage...

There are 2 SPLIT 55.gal tanks, they have 4 drilled 1.5" bulkheads in 1/2 inch glass all the way around... the question is what to do with them???????? i wondered if i should use them for a sump for a bigger tank...or use one of them as a refugium/skimmer tank, and take the middle sperator down and have the other as a display... give me some ideas please

Steel Frame

top tank display

bottom refugium/ mechanical & skimmer bay, heater Ect.....

Top tank: Remove middle divider/ install glass for overflow (calflo style)
Bottom Tank: Trim divider to overflow...

I think that'd work just fine. I had roughly the same setup for two years, and have roughly the same (but a different) setup now. Only difference was the display was a 75 and now a 90.

I assume the white Ls in the display are the return outputs? Make sure you've got a check valve (or a couple of them) in place or that'll be one hell of a mess
