new tiger goby questions

I recently got a tiger goby for my 20 gallon with an inch of live sand (he'll graduate to a 55 when he gets bigger). Right now he's in my QT and is eating frozen mysis shrimp out of the column as well as some gel brine shrimp. While i'm glad he's eating (because it's unlikely my livesand alone would be enough) i'm afraid he's not getting a well balanced diet and i was wondering if there are other foods i should be feeding him? Also, how much should he be fed? All the sources i found say to feed often, but say nothing about the quantity or just what "often" means. I know sleeper gobies can starve in captivity so i want to keep him well fed, but i also don't want to pollute my water. Help?

why is he in the 20g when he could be in the 55 with (hopefully) a deeper sandbed? i have a 6" sandbed throughout the my 75g tank (some spots lower/higher) and a YWG was kept alive for 3 years i would say (i had him for a year, previous owner had him for unknown time but he was LARGE!) but unfortunately he died from old age and a terror undulated. i always saw the YWG 'eating' aka sifting the sand for food particles but would also eat the frozen, pellets or flakes i fed. get a deeper sandbed for the 20g or better yet mov ehim into the 55 with a deeper sandbed (hopefully).

He's not in the 55 now cause i only have space to keep one tank up and the 20 is cheaper to run especially since i only have three small fish. I was told i should either have less than an inch or more than four inches; why do you say i should get a deeper sandbed? I thought the deep sandbeds were only if you wanted to use that instead of a skimmer or something?

often = as many times a day as u can

Ok but a more specific amount of how much this fish needs to eat would be more helpful because while i want to keep him well fed i also don't want to be polluting my tank with excess nutrients.
