So, I picked a clam up...have wanted one in my tank for years but never had the light to support them.
:D

Did not notice it until getting home it is attached too a piece of PVC pipe. Can I remove it from the pipe without injuring the clam? I would prefer to put it in/on the rocks and allow it to attach itself to them or in the sand.

I also target fed it, which it seemed to not like so much as it recoiled...wondering if the flow of water coming out of the turkey baster was simply too strong or if I should not target feed.

dont target feed it, thats not how they eat(in one big gulp). they slowly filter all day long but if your lights are strong enough thats(light) all they really need.

to remove it from the PVC just cut the threads where they attach to the PVC

Thank you, did not want to injur it by cutting the "threads" I was not sure if that was similar to a snails foot.

Will also not feed the clam. Its sitting under a 400w MH (MH is 8" above the water and the clam is at the bottom of a 75g tank) and (3) 96w PC bulbs which should be enough lighting.
