New to Clams

Hello,

I have recently traded a frag for a Deresa clam. The clam is a little over 2" I was wondering if I will need to feed it or will the light be enough for it. I currently have 2X65 watt coralife PC's on the tank. All of my SPS grow really well. I had planned on putting the clam on the substrate. Thanks for your help.

yes u will need to feed it untill it 3-4 inches.deresa's do live on the sand but how deep is ur light

The clam is 15 inches from the light, where i have it placed on the sand.

u should be good to go. ur main lighting is 10k right?

I have 1 65 watt 10K and 1 65 watt Actinic. I have had really good success with LPS and monti SPS's. And people with maximas and croceas or however you spell it have told me that I should be ok with my lights and the Duresa or a squamosa again I am unsure of the spelling. It had a really good color that I have not seen before in that kind of clam. thanks for your help

I would think that you should have about 2x that much light, escpecaily that its 15" deep.
