New to having a Reef Ready tank...

I have a 90g Reef Ready perfecto cornerflow that I have finally gotten plumbed and filled with fresh water to test. No leaks - woohoo! I am having an issue with the water in the corner of the overflow, it doesn't stay at a consistent height. It goes up and down constantly. The water drains straight down to a 20g for a sump, the return pump is an Ocean Runner 2500. Any thoughts, or is this just normal?

YOu need to design an overflow device so the downflowing water does not create a suction vortex. If it is also extremely noisy the case is that there is no standpipe. Look up Durso and Stockman standpipes and a Gurgle buster is also a good one.

It already has a durso, comes with it. It's not even very noisy, Just wondering if it is normal for the water in the corner-flow to fluctuate and if not, how to stop it.

Does the water from the tank flow constantly into the corner overflow? It may be that you need to add more water to your tank to keep these even.

Can you provide pictures of your setup (overflow & sump)?

The durso should have a small hole on the top, if the water fluctuates is because the hole maybe is not big enough or is getting block with salt due to the normal evaporation. keep this one clean or maybe make it a bit larger until you have the water to the desire level.

Do you have hose or PVC from the bulkhead to the sump? I solved the same problem by connecting to bushings into a 2" drain line. No more water fluctuations.

It does constantly and consistantly flow over the overflow. THe water in the over flow is a couple inches lower than the tank. I will try to get some pics up later.

It does have a hole on the top of it, probably about a 1/4" with some rigid airline coming up out of it. There is only fresh water in it right now, I just set it up and wanted to test my plumbing for leaks before filling it with ro/di. Maybe the airline that come with the durso is not letting enough air in?

The drain is a 1 1/4" pvc that is a straight shot into the sump.

If the water is rising and falling, the hole in the durso is not large enough. I'd remove the tube and make the hole bigger.

I didn't make the hole bigger yet but I installed a ball valve on the return when I plumbed everything in. I closed that about half way and that stopped it. Do you think If I make the hole bigger I can open the valve up all the way again?
