New to hobby. Emperor Angel ?

Hi! I set up a saltwater tank 5 months ago. 200 gallon glass cylinder. I got a juvenile emperor Angel a few days ago. His fins look a little frayed around edges. Is this just due to upcoming color change? My large dogface puffer is also dark today. Stress from new tank mates?

Looks like lymphocystis to me from that pic. If so, it should go away over time provided the fish stays healthy, is eating good and water uality is good. It can also be removed manually via removing the fish briefly, laying him on a damp towel and gently scraping it away with a razor blade if it's just on the fins (Though this is something you may or may not be comfortable doing.) Again, not 100% sure, but I'm sure others will chime in too.

There is some disease present.

Could be lymph. Hopefully not ich. I do see some white spots on the body as well.

Can't help with the puffer without some more info. How long have you had it,tank age, any quarantine, etc?

i will assume you didn't qt the new fish. is ther eonly 2 fish in your tank, and are all your fish still eating.

I'm on board with this diagnosis

I don't have a quarantine tank but I did dip him for 10 mins like the fish store suggested. He is eating great and no spots are present in main body area just the fringes of the fin. I added melafix for 2nd day in a row and was going to continue. I have following in tank.
2 clowns, snowflake, 2 puffers, foxface, squirrel, hawk, few chrome, blue throat trigger. The dog face was the first fish after cycle so he was king so to speak but we added 3 new kids this past weekend so maybe out of sorts. Everyone is eating and acting ok.

You are stressing the fish out with all the unnecessary dipping. You need to pinpoint what it is and treat properly. Dips do not work for everything. If it's ich, then TTM would be the best method. Prazi-Pro for flukes. If it is Lympho, it will go away on it's own with the help of good water quality. To help aid also, would be to soak it's food in Selcon or Vita-Chem. Lympho comes from poor water quality and stress.
