Hi guys,

we are in the UK and your Mantis knowledge seems far better than we get over here. We have 3 tanks in total 2 reef and one species.

This holds a P. Ciliata (yellow spearer) belonging to Matt my 11 year old.

2 questions please - any suggestions on clean up crew and secondly how do we sex it ? I am not prepared to pick it up, look under its skirt and see whats there !!!!!!

Any help would be appreciated,

regards Richard (dad) Helen (mum) Matt (11 and Mantis dad) Dan and Mike (8 and 4 with own reef nano) - from Robin Hood Country UK

with that mantis being a spearer you can put any kind of snails, crabs and invertis in the tank with a very good survival rate. but i always make sure my clean up crews for my mantis tanks are fairly cheap since there is always a possibilty that they will get eaten.

for the second question there are a couple of posts that are stickied at the top of the page that will tell you alomst all you need to know about your mantis but if there is anything left out or something you dont see there then i am sure one of the many mantis lovers here can answer it for you. oh yea and welcome to the wonderful world of the mantis shrimp..lol...
