Just picked up a 250 delux external skimmer and looking to see what pump I should be running? Tank is 400 gallons and 100 gallon sump so help with this would be great!

You don't need a lot of flow to it. If you are looking at a Royal Exclusiv pump, I would suggest the RD3 50 as it will allow you very precise control over the flow which will help in dialing the skimmer in. The RD3 pumps speed can be controlled in very small increments compared to other DC pumps. You will likely want between 100 and 300 GPH. As such, you don't need much when it comes to the feed pump. If you don't go with a controllable pump, then I would suggest having a gate valve between the pump and skimmer to tune the flow.

Hey off topic but looking to see what the cost would be for a replacement 8.2 ms impeller? From a red dragon 2200 gallon pump

You said 8.2ms?? Do you mean 8.0m3? if so, we don't stock the rotors for the order red dragon flow pumps here in the US. You would need to order that from Germany..

Here is the link to the rotor for the 8.0m3. Note there were 2 different models of that pump. One was a larger block and the other was a smaller block. In the link below, there is a notation of how to identify which motor you have by the shaft length.

Looks like this pump doesn't have the AKB which is the red tube that goes between the volute and the motor block? It's on the opposite side of the motor block so I'm not 100% sure. I'm going to send an email to Germany to verify the impeller part number. Unfortunately, I know we don't have one in stock in the US. As such, it will need to come from Germany. I will post the link to the part number. It should be tomorrow morning.

You can see the AKB line in this image.

So the above part numbers are the correct part numbers for your block. As I said, we don't stock the impellers for those blocks in the US. Those particular pumps were primarily distributed through Europe. They are still great pumps though and with a bit of care of regular maintenance, they will last a long long time. The key is to not allow calcium to build up inside the magnet cavity and in the bearing. Taking the pump apart every 6 or so months and cleaning it in vinegar and giving it a good scrubbing will make for a very happy pump thaty lasts 10 or more years. Also avoid using muriatic acid to clean it. If I were you, I would consider the metal shaft version but the ceramic is just fine as well. You just need to keep it clean to prevent the shaft from breaking.

Would you be able to PM me the cost to get one sent to alaberta Canada a metal shaft and new bearing also thanks

I'm with Royal Exclusiv USA. We don't have access to the shipping costs for items shipped from Germany. For pricing on items shipped from Germany, you need to go through the international webstore. If you follow the links above, you can add the motor block and bearing to your cart and go through the checkout process and get the total cost based on your complete ship to address. You will not be charged the 18% VAT since it's not shipping to Europe but Canadian import duties may apply. That is something Royal Exclusiv has no control over.
