Got my new clown on friday last week. This is Lizzy:

She was marked as a picasso in the lfs and is my first clown. I'm hoping to get another picasso one she's grown a bit and see if they can pair.

More pictures i took this mornin; sorry they're a bit blurry, taken with iphone while she was darting around.

She's still a little reluctant to eat the pellets & mysis i've been trying her on. I fed the whole tank with baby brine this morning (for the filter feeders) and she went to town, darting all over gobbling up baby brine. At least she's getting something.

I wouldn't wait to add a second clown. It is sometimes difficult to get a long established clown to pair up.

She was in a tank alone and i thought if i added another clown (all the percs were roughly the same size as her) they would fight. I just wanted her to gain another 1/2 inch or so then add a smaller one.

Am i wrong with this assumption?

Okay, well the weather is supposed to be bad this weekend but ill try and get to the lfs either during next week or next weekend. Maybe they'll have another lone picasso in when i go back.

Congrats with the really nice Perc. Was it sold to you as a normal Perc or is it a hybrid?

+1 Get a 2 one asap

Thanks!

8220, she was labelled as a picasso but cost less than the percs. She could be some kind of hybrid but who knows. I'll be getting her a perc buddy very soon.

Thanks. If they'd had a couple that looked like this, or at least 2 in different tanks i would have grabbed a couple last weekend but they only had paired picassos which were hellish expensive.

I'm going to add a true perc and see what happens.

Good luck finding a nice pair!

Got a new clown this afternoon, a small percula. The two seem to be getting on quite well, the new perc is a tiny bit bigger than the Picasso and is doing what I assume is a dominance dance (swimming upright and wiggling at the smaller one). There's been no aggression that I could see so far.

I'll post photos later.

Photos!

I tried to get one of the new clown by itself but just couldn't.

I'll keep any eye out for future aggression just in case. They seem to be tolerating each other pretty well right now though. The bigger one (the perc) was doing a little wiggle dance earlier, not sure if this is for dominance or submission.
