New to the Area

Hey everyone.
My name is Josh (obviously). I am new to the area (well I'm actually located in Clarion, for school) and I was thinking about starting a new tank up here at school. I had a reef tank set up back home (In central PA) for quite a while and I loved it. There are a few limitations to living in a college environment though when it comes to tanks. The major one is that my tank can be no larger than 10 gallons. I figured I would check in here with you guys to see if anyone had an old set up they were looking to sell or if i were to buy a tank if someone could start me off with some live material to seed with ( i would pay of course ).

Well, I'm sure it'll be a pleasure to get to know everyone here in this club, if i get a chance to, in person. But if not, I'd be happy to meet you all online!
 
I think there is a Pittsburgh marine aquarium society meeting this Saturday - if you go to the Local website= http://www.pmasi.org/frm/content.php.

The meeting is a drive from Clarion, but maybe the best way to talk to locals. I just rejoined the hobby as well after 4 years of being out as I fell into a 65 reef setup. The activity here on R/C and on the local club website is considerably less than 4 years ago. I am sure you can find a piece of live rock and a scoop of live sand from someone. I have a 10 gallon aquarium, but it is not drilled or anything else. I also have a Tunze 9002 skimmer that may interest you - let me know as I will have to dig it out the shed and make sure it works before I would sell it. So, your going to set up a PICO - challenging for sure.

It will definitely be challenging, but I'm up for it. I don't have many hobbies, and as a college kid, that may seem weird. Fish keeping is one hobby that has stayed consistent throughout my life and it brings me great joy. So for my aquariums I am willing to put in the work and effort to make the inhabitants happy which in turn will make me happy. I might have to take you up on the skimmer eventually, but as far as the tank goes, I was looking for something a little more flashy than a standard 10 gallon. Thank you for the offer though! As far as the meeting this weekend I unfortunately work 9hour days both days so I don't think I'll be able to make it. In the future for sure though

I have some Live Rock and I think I have some dried dead rock you can have for free. You can have the dried rock and a piece of the live to get your cycle going. I also have some corals and macro algae you could have for free. I live 20 miles north of Pittsburgh on Rt 8, (near the turnpike exchange) if you want to see my general location. I am not far from acer if you decide on the skimmer he has.
 
I was just down in Butler yesterday so that isn't far from you. Butler is the closest actual pet store to where I am, so its not that much further out of the way from you guys. When i decide on my tank and everything i will definitely take you up on that offer! Thank you so much!
 
Even that is 45 miles away from me, unfortunately. But yeah, i will probably look into it, and if I do, I will let you guys know what it's like.

Well does anyone have a recommendation for a pico tank, under 10 gallons? If it were on amazon that'd be great but if not that's fine too
