New to the forums

Hello everyone. My name is Dan. I was referred to the forums by Khusson1. I have been good friends with him for a few years now and I admire his Aquarium every time i am at his house. It is beautiful. He is the reason i am starting my own tank. I am super excited about it and its coming along great. I am looking forward to meeting some great people on here. :fun2:

I have a 60 Gal. tank
Tom rapids pro rp3 plus canister filter w/auto fill
Aquaticlife 48" 4 bulb T5HO w/4 lunar LED's
2 Koralia evolution pumps

I currently just put saltwater into the tank and got the filter running. I am in the process of finding LIVEROCK and BASEROCK locally but havent heard anything yet. If anyone knows where i could get about 100lbs that would be great.

IF you have the patience, and feel like saving the money. Go get some LR from TFP or some other place the sells live rock and get like ten lbs of really "fresh looking" LR and get the rest from Bulkreefsupply.com and look at their selection of dry rock.

Note: that dry rock is almost half the weight as LR so you would certainly not need 90lbs of dry rock. Also BRS has a place for notes on your order and you can specify what size pieces you would like to, i've ordered through them twice for rock and highly reccomend them

I got some base rock and live rock last night from Brian. Thanks again. His tank is beautiful. i could have sat there all night.

The best base rock I have ever gotten I just got from reefcleaners.org. So good that I ordered more and waiting for it to arrive this week. Plus it was cheapest ever. $90 with free shipping for 50lbs>

No problem KindOfSalty, I'm glad you're happy with the base and live rock How late were you up last night aqua-scaping? Still aqua-scaping? Be patient and it'll all be worthwhile.

I wasn't up that late. I just got home and put the live rocks in my tank and went to bed. I'm sure after I eat dinner I will be aqua-scaping most of the night. Lol.
