Set up a 55 gal tank two weeks ago with two bio wheel 400's, live sand, and 40lbs of live rock. My water has been tested every other day and the lfs said throw some cheap damsels in. Well tested again today and everything was 0, so I added a emerald crab, banded coral shrimp, and a serpant star fish. Whatcha think so far?

Welcome to the hobby! If possible consider changing one of biowheel 400 with a hang on skimmer like octopus 1000bh as skimmer is a godo way to go. 2 weeks is a little bit short for full cyclying ... A month or so would be better... Hope that your damsel are mild ones as gerente chromis or yellow tail blue otherwise will have hardware time to remove them as will be too agressive with new addictions... You did not mention your lighting set up so check it before any coral introduction.

yes i would look at upgrading ur filtartion with a refugium if ur getting corals or a wet/dry trikel filter if your doing a fish only system with the addition of a skimmer and also getting more rock unless ur happy with ur aquascape... ideally u should have at least 1lbs per gallon and i would defiantly get rid of the damsil if u can catch him and get a chromis of some sort instead, they are much more docile even tho they are a part of the damsil family... one of the most common mistakes for a bigginer is to get a damsil hahaha but other then that good job! its good that everything is at 0. You should post a pic me and im sure a lot of other people would like to see ur tank :)

Thanx guys! Im going to run these two bio wheels and soon be getting a good hang on skimmer, not sure on which one so some pointers would be greatly welcomed! Ive ordered T5 light with three blue bulbs and one white one, total 216w. What will this light support? Ive also been told this light will help things grow off my live rock as well. fill me in guys!!! thanx!

that light brobably wont do sps, but if u have a large aquascape then u might be able to thow a couple hardy ones in at the very top, but u should be able to do stuff like an anemone... all softie corals...and probaby a decent amont of hardy LPS... and maybe 1-3 SPS corals haha
