Hey everyone I've been hanging around for a few days. I have read the threads on the main wall. I'm pretty sure I'm going to start with a 75 gallon tank with a sump. I want to have a reef set up and introduce fish to it as well. Does anyone have any good place for me to research different fish/corals? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!!

Welcome!:wavehand:
The forum is a great place with lots of knowledgeable people.
The internet has a lot of information but I still come here and get confirmation before taking action.

Everything depends on what you want to keep and how much money you have to burn :)

Welcome. It seems to be a good time to get into saltwater. There have been alot of very nice set ups going for really good deals locally. ( Can't tell where you live) . Keep reading and don't rush. Slow and steady seems to be the best way with saltwater.

Welcome to the forum man! ;-)

There are plenty of people in here that will help you with what you need. Over in the main forum there is a New To The Hobby forum that I pretty much lived in for a few months.

Liveaquaria.com is a great place to research fish and corals

The best advice anyone on here will be able to give is to take your time and be patient with things. The more patient you are with things the better off your tank will be.

You've got alot of bigtime reef guys from up in your area that I've learned quite a bit from.

The search box is your friend. Chances are if you have a question it has been asked 50 times.

Any questions, you know the number!

Happy Reefing!!

Welcome to Reef Central and URS! If you've been poking around the boards, I'm sure you've been to the "New to the Hobby" forum threads. Be sure to check out this one if you haven't.

You'll hear it a million times, but patience is the key to success in this hobby. Lots of folks get in, and lots of folks get frustrated and get out b/c they don't have patience.

As mentioned before, the search field is your friend. If you have an idea or want some feedback, don't be afraid to post here. I would recommend that you heed any warnings/take advice that's given. Lots of us have learned some important lessons the hard way. There's no need for you to do so as well.

Most of all, enjoy the hobby and the friends you'll make here. There's lots of good folks who spend time here, some of whom I have met in person; others I have not.

75 with sump is a great choice for a first reef aquarium. You must have done your homework! There are fish/coral forums here on RC. Tip: use scientific names and research specific species whenever possible. In other words, learn how to search properly. There's a lot of misinformation out there. You must learn to quickly sort the good stuff from the bad. GOOD LUCK.
