New to Vortech, have a couple ??

I just installed my new vortechs last night, after making all the up/down left/right adjustments they seem to be running very smooth (no vibration). However, I noticed that one of the pumps when looking at the prop nut has a wobble, while the other seems very balanced. Will this be a problem?

Also, the pumps or maybe just one of them is making a very high pitched noise, its the kind of noise you don't really notice up close, but can hear in the next room. The noise is noticeable to my wife, which isn't good, will this noise go away after breakin?

I am running 2 pumps on a 6'x18"x27" tank. I currently have them running in reef crest, master/slave, the slave does not seem to put out near the flow, even when the master is ramped down. What mode is prefered to most? I would like to get a back and forth motion, but I am nervous about trying to produce a wave after reading the glass tank warning.

The wobbling shouldn't be a problem.

As for the high pitched noise, it's very tough to say. It could go away during break in or it could be an electrical noise that your wife is sensitive to but you are not. It's very tough for us to determine noise related issues over the internet.

Is the slave in sync or anti-sync mode? To get a back and forth motion, put the master on one side in pulse mode and the slave on the other side in anti-sync mode. Slow the pulse frequency down and you will not generate a resonant wave, just simple back and forth flow.

Tim-The slave is in anti-sync, I will try the pulse mode.

I will give it time to break-in and hopefully the noise will go away. I can hear the noise, as well, but it doesn't bother me. If my wife can hear it thats bad news. That is one reason the tank is in wall, to disapate the noise.

I must say the pumps did live up to my expectations, build wise, flow, etc. very nice and worth the money.
