Hey guys so i have been doing FOWLR for the past 9 years and have no expericnce with corals and zoes so I need your advice. Recently I had a fellow reefer give me a small frag of zoes with about 5 polyps on it. I placed it in the middle section of my tank on a rock. its been in there for about 4 weeks but only one of the polyps are open and the others are closed. I need to know what I should be doing to get them to open up. The tank is a 180g and I have 4 VHO T5's on it. I have attached a pic since I dont know what kind of zoes it is either.
any advice would be great.

i am definitally not an expert, but what i've been seeing/reading suggested is to start them out on the sand, in the shade, and then slowly work them out to more intense light until they appear to be comfortable.

another question that is almost always asked is - what are your water parameters and what kind of lighting are they under?

thanks guys for the response. well my problem is no longer an issue since my new emperor angelfish decided that it wanted an snack and munched on the zoes :sad2:

The palys need more light. The polyp stalks are real streched out which means they are reaching for light.

3-4 watts per gallon is usually recommended.

also try a different area in tank in this case higher for more light. If that doesn't work try dipping in revive. And also run over fan head to remove any parasites or irritants.
