Please forgive my ignorance, what kind of trigger is this? I've read that blue-cheek triggers are generally reef safe.

Here's a little info about em-

One of the most beautiful Atlantic triggerfish
is the Sargassum Triggerfish, Xanthichthys ringens.
The color varies from bluish gray to brownish gray
with three dark lines on the cheek and a brilliant
blue shadow above the eye. A series of dashes
form thin stripes on the body. The Sargassum
Trigger usually inhabits deep reefs and ledges
(usually below 100 feet) but is occasionally seen
drifting near the surface under patches of sargassum
weed.

I have a Blue Throat and was considering a pair of these when I upgrade to a 390 g this summer / fall. I am also considering a pair of Crosshatches but I think the Sargassums are less $. Very pretty fish congrats.

my 300 will have a pair of saragassums and a pair of crosshatches. man i cannot wait

Two pair of triggers would be sweet-is that a do able thing? This fish is in a 450g but i will be moving my corals and some fish into my 700g by this summer-450g will stay fowlr, finding pairs would be nice!!

i have seen it done and they should all be juvis and introduced at the same time which will cut on aggression and they will have a chance to stake claim on tank space.

if it doesnt work i have a 90gal fuge i can use as a temp tank until i move them elsewhere

i have 2 4 in sargassums in my tank now. no aggression what so ever towards each other. my tank is a 125 so in a larger tank i dont think youd have a problem at all, unless one of the fish happened to have an attitude. they are beautiful fish.
