thought id share some pics of my red sea titan, now that i have him situated. I decided to actually use plastic plants and gravel - never thought i would do that again, but it will be easier to keep clean and have constant color - since i cant add more fish or inverts.

Enjoy!!

thanks for looking.

I like how the tank has a peaceful theme with lillies, flowers, and even a Hindu figure and then the resident of this tank is a mean, nasty, titan trigger. ;)

Who is that to the right in the second pic?

Sweet looking titan man, I can't wait to see how it grows over time! I like the fake plants look as well. I tried that once, but they needed to be glued down or something....they kept getting uprooted.

Beautiful...I have one too. He is about 3.5 inches but I was told it was a Pineapple or Yellow Margin Trigger and not a Titan. I have read if it has a moustache it is a Titan, which mine has, but others have said a Titan and Pineapple look very similar when young. So now I am wondering what I have....ours look identicle.

Good luck with him...

PS Mine is a very slow grower.. Have had him for about 2 years and he has only grown an inch or so...

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for the comments!!

Dan - that is an undulated trigger.

FishyMel - exactamundo!!!!

Humaguy - you most likely have a titan, and yes they are very slow growers, I have kept some smaller ones in the past. That is why I wanted to get one a bit larger to start with this time... remeasured at 6".

Sporty - thx!! ... beautiful, yep! :love2:

What size tank do you have him in right now?
And man do i love those fish. I'd like to get one in the future...dont have the room for a large enough tank right now:(

I was thinking the whole video any second now the titan is going to snap and shred a tank mate. I did notice they all cower in his glory.

Great 5 star vid! The undy with the yellow/green tail vs. the total orange tail is most apparent with the reluctance to be out in the open. There really is a big difference. The orange tail kind like the one you used to have is much more out in the open it seems. Would you agree? I haven't had an indo undy really swim at the top of the tank, and I've had a few from small to near 8".

The titan is fantastic. Can't wait to see the growth....if they do grow! Maybe the ones in the ocean are born at 18"!

what kind of eel is that? love the tank, trigger is awesome too. does anybody have any idea what their potential maximum size is?

Very nice! If I ever do a Fish only tank again, it will definitely be a trigger tank. Those fish have so much personality.

What was that hunk that you dropped in around 4:10? It sunk real fast, I'm having a hard time figuring it out because all my meaty foods I feed only sink very slowly.

Thx again Dan - yes, probably full grown already.... :( ;)

Irish - Gymnothorax fimbriatus

Paul - thx man, appreciate, yes personality in spades - the hawk too

Recty - that is a fresh clam (manila)

Prime 311 -

I dont take it personal, however it would be nice if you would elaborate on your specific concerns. That way we can have a dialogue about it, I'm always open to suggestions. Keep in mind I have had all of these fishes before and am not a complete novice here.

Did you read the 'description' I typed out on the you tube page? It spells out my thinking of keeping the other fishes with it. Does that not sound reasonable?

My fears are threefold:

A) Other people will see this thread and think that they, who know a lot less about the care and temperament of these fish, can just toss a Titan or Undulated in their tank and won't understand the danger of what they're doing.

B) You're fish(or at least some) will suffer stress from aggression that may not be apparent until its too late.

C) One of those Triggers will go psycho and kill everything in the tank before you can do anything about it.

Like I said, we all know and you especially you know how violent Undulated and Titans get, so knowing that I would think your walking a tightrope unnecessarily. You really seem like you know what you're doing, but I just can't in good conscience give a thumbs up to the decision to pair these together.
