Hey guys I just got a cute little baby undulated trigger it's colour are real nice it's in a 30 gal for now with lots of life rock a protein skimmer and perfect water quality.
I know this is rushing it but the little guy is real active exploring the tank not even looking at his tank mates. He has not shown much interest in food . I offered him marine pellets krill frozen shrimp and frozen brine shrimp he didn't go after any of it.
Is this normal? I had a Niger trigger that I bought from the same store and it ate as soon as I got it home this undulated is even ignoring the various crabs and shrimp i put in the tank just for him do I give him a week or two or is this normal ?
thanks alots guys.

That's a really big mean fish you got in a 30g. Could be a problem for the trigger but mainly your other fish. Is there an upgrade in the near future? Would make things alot easier on all your fish.

reply sorry i didn't go into the details lol
I have posted before concerning undulated triggers i have him in a 30 g to grow a bit it's only like 1.5 inch he will move to a 120 if he proves to be nice if not a 90 g species tank will have to do.
hey do you guys think growing him up with other pint size killers will make him a better tankmate when he gets older ?
or will it be carnage no matter what?

Undulated trigger are very aggressive and usually will attack all other tank mates. They don't get as large as some of the other triggers, 8"-10", and are some what shy, specially when people come by the tank, but they're a fish that either needs to be kept by themselves or with very aggressive tank mates and even then you need to be careful mixing them.

A lot of people get hook into buying one of them because they're small and colorful and also because tha they're some what shy, most people think they're very harmless. A short while after buying one people find out otherwise and usually reget buying one.

yeah, i have one in my hospital tank right now, about 2" long. she is in there because he attacked my 4" humu trigger in my 80 gallon... she is so beautiful im working on getting a 60 gallon tank for her to share with a tesselata or some other nice eel.

no only are they small and colorful, they are cheap, so people get sucked into buying them.

iplan to upgrade to a 8 ft 240 soon, and i think im gonna leave her out of that mix and keep her with an eel only for the rest of her life.
