New Tunze 7000 Aquarium Controller

I read about this new producto (Tunze 7000 Controller) on Reef Builders. I was about to pull the trigger on a new Neptune Apex, but now I'm holding due to the Tunze Controller. This is for a 20 gallon nano, so the Apex could have been overkill.

Can someone share more info about the Tunze? For instance, it is not clear if the unit comes with the AC outlets or you have to buy extra accessories for that. A copy if the instruction manual (in english) would be nice. When will it be available in the US? Can I control Apex-Ready LEDs with it (even if I have to build my own cable)? What about Apex-Ready pumps (Jebao with Torx DIY cable)?

All info is appreciated.

The basic controller 7000 only includes the controller and a temp probe and the cables for Tunze pumps. It would only be able to control Tunze pumps as it has our standard DIN interface. At this time it can only control Tunze LED's, or other lights by simple timed switch sockets. We are in talks with other large LED manufacturers and in the future more lighting systems will be integrated but this will be at a later date as developing the cables or WIFI interface for the other brands will take time and testing. As it stands it can run 4 Tunze DC controllable pumps, 4 Tunze LED lights (8850) and 4 switched outlets or solenoids. A deluxe version with pH electrode and solenoid will also be available. I don't yet have a manual, I have been told we should have them in the US in about 3 weeks.

Hi. What about the AC outlets? What comes with it and what must be purchased as extra? How much? I want to understand total cost in order to decide. For instance: a controller with ph, temp and salinity probes and 4 AC switched outlets. And capacity to connect a couple of float switches for ATO.

It cannot monitor salinity or water level, just pH or Redox and temp. The Osmolator will remain as a stand alone water level controller and we will have a separate salinity monitoring unit as well.

The base controller is $347.79

Switched outlets which can each handle 900W are $70.12 each, a solenoid is $69.20. I don't have pricing for a CO2 control set yet, but it would basically be a solenoid and pH electrode packaged with the 7000, my understanding is that their would be a heavy discount like free tubing, free check valve and half off the valve in a set but you can use any BNC electrode, ours is all glass with platinum electrodes, not plastic and it is $112.63. I would basically figure on a set with the 7000, a solenoid and valve coming in around $450 to $470 as a kit.

So it can control temp but you need to buy a socket and adapter that hooks up to the unit. Are the accessories on the tunze website z(will have to see) when will it be availble in Canada. I have the older style tunze leds does it do anything with that there are only two color channels

I was excited at the beginning but now it seems that it is not really that much cheaper if you take into account that it does not monitor salinity, does not support float switches and you have to pay $70 for each AC outlet.

8810, 8820, 8830 will also be compatible. Yes, you would need a switched socket to control temp, two if you want to control heating and cooling.
