New Urchin

Oh god. I hope we dont get a thread when you stick a spine through your finger. BE CAREFUL!

I had a long spine urchin 10 years ago or so and stuck a spine about an inch up under my fingernail.

I've already got a black longapine, who eats the red turf algae in my tank. According to what I read, the urchin doesn't prey on fish but it does say inverts. I can't see him catching a shrimp or anything like that. Urchins are slow. It does grow quite large though.

I have 4 cleaner shrimp & all kinds of snails & hermit crabs. You think when the shrimp or crabs molt it'll prey on them?

I have no idea---I only see what I read. I can't imsgine this thing catching one but I'm moving it to a tank w/o shrimp, when it gets bigger. Right now, he seems to be eating some of the heartier red turf algae I havn't been able to get rid of, so I'm thrilled.
