New use for old Seaclone

I know that this doesn't have much to do with reefing other than the fact I modded a old skimmer, but....

Over the weekend my fiance and I decided to convert one of our rooms in the basement into a 15'x7'x7' terrarium, with a 5' round x 8" deep pond. So for filtration to keep some ryukin fantailed goldfish, I decided that I could take out the inner tube out of the skimmer and cut the 1" dia. riser off, lay in a piece of egg crate, fill up with zeolite and carbon about 2/3 of the way and use some cut-to-fit filter material, rolled, and put on top of the media mix. I eliminated the collection cup and the J shaped tube and put the maxi-jet straight to the body and disconected the air line, and now we have a fairly decent small pond filter that can be easily hidden behind rocks to make a waterfall. Chemical, Biological, Mechanical, and circulation and aeration, and it works in 2" water.

Now if you have one laying around I imagine that you could also use it as a carbon reactor on your reefs also, It does a decent job at gently fluidizing the media. At 12" of media, it still rolls around the top 5"-6" of it.
