few to start

few to start

OK, Got home last night around 9 and the electricity to the fish room was off. After getting everything figured and back working lights were off, so no new pics today. I do have some stock photos of corals in the tank.

Wanted to start today with a beautiful coral. I have a picture of the colony. Several frags are available. The pavona grows over a rock like a carpet and waves a bit in the flow. This particular color is really nice:

Recently donated, this coral has done well in the tank. The frag is larger than half dollar and opens up even larger:

We have had several of these donated in last few months and all have done well in the tank. It is fun to watch them go from raisin looking at night to swelled and open under the lights----

After 2 fragging demonstrations, does anyone not have one of these leathers? I have several quarter sized frags that are doing very well:

Here is a newer picture of the purple pavona and a picture of newly donated green pavona. Have had green pavona in the tank all year, but this is a little different color and seems a little longer:

All of the pieces in this post are new donations.

The first is a star polyp. This has longer fingers and pink centers.
Looks very nice for movement in the tank:

Here are 2 blue zoanthids.
Close in color, but different.
One has the longer skirt, while the other has the shorter, bunched skirt:

thank you

thank you

Thank you to all who donated these frags to give us some diversity in the tank.
Also thanks to those who have already sent messages offering to bring more donations this meeting.

It is easy to obtain frags:

--be a current, paid member of comas;
--have a tank with maturity and lighting to handle the frags you are requesting;
--be willing to host the frag until it grows large enough to divide, and return a frag to the tank;

Pm me with requests for frags and I'll return pm with confirmation.
All frags will be brought to the meeting on Saturday night.

I got all your requests---

The answer to everyone is yes.
I'll pm you after work--

Keep checking back, I'll add more later today or tomorrow morning.

Bright green zoanthid. Looks like the actinic lighting is on them at night all day long:

Lynn,

I was wondering if I can bring several in, since my tanks demise I wanted to ensure some frags survive for when I start it back up in April.

Big Thanks

Big Thanks

How much fun was it for me to sit down and have a table full of people excited to get new frags for their tank.

Would be great to see some pics as they get adjusted.

Even greater was bringing home a box full of corals to help re stock the tank. This is a trend I hope we keep up: Lots of happy people taking corals out and lots of returns for re stocking.

Had a lot of fun tonight. Got to meet up with some friends, and make a few new ones.

Again, THANK YOU to all who donated back to the tank. It was quite a list:

JKHudson
Shawne Garrison
GHellin
Kender
JFreeland
PWhitby
CJilge

Happy reefing to all and to all a good night.....
