New Zoa bag water is brown and smells

I just opened my new Zoa colony I got online. The bag water is brown and smelly. Should I put this in my tank???

I don't want to harm other creatures in my tank.

Well I would never put shipped water into your tank but you should float the zoas in the bag and then do a zoa dip for fungus and then place it in the sand just to be safe. zoas are pretty hardy and even if a lot of them didn't make it, I am sure that a few did and you can cut it up in a couple of weeks. Even better thing to do is put them in a quarantine tank to be extra careful.
