no expert here but i've never owned a purple hornet with a white mouth. I think that may be a blue? None-the-less nice Z's. I'd like to know what that first one is also

Its a purple hornet, I recently moved it to the current spot and it hasnt been too happy. Im thinking the flow is too high, it hasnt fully opened since I moved it.

# 1 reminds me of chameleons but I haven't seen any in a a fairly long time so I could be wrong. Also, not that it matters, but I think evb's right- It looks like an african blue hornet. THe reason is that the skirt on a purple hornet will alternate colors, green, purple, green, purple, etc.

I can see why you would think that from the picture, I will get a better one when the lights are on tomorrow.

What Akwarius said +1. No doubt they are Blue Hornets. Blue Hornets have a white disk center with purples do not.

Kaleidoscopes eh? I keep seein these more and more. They seem to be a cool morph of eagle eyes. I have probably over 200 polyps of Eagle eyes and the one day i accidently smushed a couple polyps pretty bad to the point i thought they def were not gonna make it. They look like a blob for several months and then they turned out to be exactly what kaleidoscopes look like, a eagle eye with a splash of yellow in the middle. The one is almost completely bright yellow in the middle and speckeled looks very cool.

Not saying everyone go smash their eagle eyes but i have a couple in my tank that popped up a couple months ago and my only explanation is that they were badly damaged and morphed

Yea this one morphed from some eagle eyes as well. This may be a stupid question but Im wondering if anything that grows from the single polyp I cut off will be a kaleidoscope or is it possible any newly formed polyps could just be an eagle eye?

Here is a closer picture of mine, it is a very bright green and much brighter than the other kaleidoscope polyp that is still with my eagle eyes. Hopefully the colony comes out looking like this once it grows.
