About 3 days ago i bought a zoo rock from an LFS that had two different zoos on it some green and purple ones and some brownish red ones with a yellow star center. My green zoos have opened up very nice and look great, but only a few brown polyps have opened. There are about 20 polyps that have not opened.
I have 130w PC on a 30 gallon tank that is 18 inches deep. The zoos are about half way down to the bottom of the tank. I have 800GPH of flow and they are in a spot that gets great flow. My tests all show 0, I dont test calcium or alk, I dont have any corals that require it. My salinity is a little high though.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do??
Oh yeah i forgot the zoo rock is next to a piece of live rock that has a cup coral on it, not sure of the scientific name, but it is really common in florida. Also at the LFS the rock didnt have an aptasia on it that I could see, but when I got the rock home the aptasia came out when the zoos were being acclimated.
Thanks Ken
