New Zoo's

Hi Al -
I really like the T5's. I have the retro kit (6x54w), and they are really bright! I would highly recommend www.reefgeek.com - I was really impressed with their customer service, and when I bought mine they had the best prices too. I've had some success with SPS under the T5s too! I decided to go with MH on our 125 because of the length (T5's only go up to 60" I believe) and the 125 is 6' long.

The tank looks good! If you start a thread about your clown breeding adventures, please let me know - I would love to follow it!

Take care!

Anna,

I found these T5's that are 6 feet long.

That is a sweet fixture. I'd definitely consider getting one of those, but it is a little out of our budget at the moment. We were able to piece together a pretty nice MH setup (well, we're in the process anyway) for a pretty reasonable price. It'll be interesting to see how everything does under MH vs the T5s!

Anna,

Good luck with the new tank, I'm sure things will really pop under the MH, I know mine did when I was running mh but I had alot of heat issues and evaporation, not to mention a large bill.

I thought I would share that I live in a relatively quiet neighborhood, a neighbor was renting out his home. One morning a helicopter was flying over the home as I was getting ready for work, around 5:30 am. Well I looked out the front door and there were six police cars in front of the house. Seems this guy was growing pot in his basement. Running MH, full fertilization system, hydroponic's etc. Needless to say he's in deep. What tipped the cops was his high electric bills.

I'll be waiting to see what happens once I remodel the basement and install a 180 or 240 and all the lighting, I think I'll probably go with T5's, I don't want the drama of a raid.

A little comparison.

atram what do you feed your yumas

I've been feeding them (Frozen) Rotifers, Mysis and enriched baby brine shrimp. I just noticed 2 new little rics this morning.
