newbe sump ?

starting a new 190 build my question is how far can i have the sump away from the main tank? i would like to run my sump up stairs to an empty room:headwally: for decorative purposes

any suggestions thx

As far as you want as long as water can be passed from the main tank to the sump and back to the tank completing the loop.

i will have to figure something out..
its about a 20-30ft climb and descent for the h2o flow

It is doable. You would have to put a pump in your DT that is big enough to pump the 20-30ft. Then have a overflow to be able to keep up with your pump to push it back down to your DT. Honestly, the massive pump pushing water to your sump is going to be an eyesore in your DT.
