Here are some pic from a 4pack special. I figure since I'm new to this I should go for the aquacultured corals.

you should get fragfarmers 10 frags for $100, he's got some nice stuff :) but nice pieces i see you got there, good luck!

Bad thing is...I wished I cooked the rocks. I thought the sun outside would be cooked enough. I guess not.

I started again after hurricane katrina and I think my po4 are leaching from my rocks. I have a phosban reactor coming next week. Hopefully that and water changes will help slow down the growth.

Get a good cleaner crew and that will be gone in no time...I had a similar bloom when my tank was cycling and after adding the hermits and snails it was gone within a week.

thanks here are the specs:

58g oceanic rr
20g sump
euroreef rs-80

250w de phoenix 14k on evc ballast

nice tank... I've got yo get mine set back up.. broke it down when i moved into my new house.

I have one question about what your said
"Bad thing is...I wished I cooked the rocks. I thought the sun outside would be cooked enough. I guess not."

Did you place your rocks outside in the sun to dry ?

I don't understand your sun statement, cooking rocks does not involve heat. Cooking rocks refers to placeing them in a tub, in the dark for an extended curing process.

During this time you dunk and swish the rock in a series of buckets with clean water every week, and place them in new clean salt water. This goes on for a couple of months, and it gives the rock a chance to shead all of the deatris it has accumulated.

Accually heating it up just kills the stuff inside, it does not accually remove anything.

Well I left the rocks out in the sun to dry for 2 months due to breaking down my 140g from hurricane katrina. Then I let the rocks sit in a tub closed up for a week or two. I took the rocks out and brushed them and then sprayed the rocks with a water hose to get rid of the junk inside the rock. I then let the rocks sit in the tank for two months with a skimmer running and been doing 50% water changes for several weeks. I thought that would fix the problem of die off. I think po4 is leaking from the rocks internally. Everyone around town is fighting algae issues, but mine seems to be a little bit in the extreme side. Two weeks ago I found out that the water coming out from my ro/di was at 5 tds. I just recently replaced all prefilters and the di filter which brought me down to 0 tds.

Sorry for my ignorance about cooking rocks. I thought you actually put rocks in a pot and boil the water. I'll know I'll get flamed, but hell I'm learning something new everyday. Thanks for all the input!

Can you hook those powerheads to a wakemaker, I am debating between those or my existing maxi 1200's that have a reef fanatic wavemaker on them? They look sweet the way you can mount them at different angles.
