Newbie Anemone Questions

I added a BTA to my tank last night. It moved a bit from where I placed it and has taken residence near a torch coral. Will either of these guys bother each other? If so, is there a preffered method of getting the BTA to move else where?

Also, my black and white clown has seemed interested in the BTA, but Im wondering what a typical timeframe before he will full out host the new guy.

Thanks!

Here is a very poorly taken pic to show how close they are.

The BTA was originally on top of the ledge that he is now on the underside of. When the torch fully spreads, they would be in contact.

I have a feeling that someone is going to be unhappy, and I am leaning toward the torch being that one. I would move the torch, since, it would be harder to move the BTA, and there is no saying that it won't go back to that spot.

As for how long it will take before your clown is hosted by it....could take hours, days, weeks, months.....there is no set timeframe, the clown will by hosted when it is ready.

The BTA has been on the move a bit today, so Im going to let them be for now and see how it plays out. It actually seems like it might be headed back to the top of that ledge. Really hope I dont need to move the torch, he's glued to the liverock....

The clown has been playing in the BTA, so thats good at least. I guess I dont actually know what constitutes hosting, so Im not really sure what I should be expecting, but he's definitely seems to have taken a liking to the new addition.

I wouldnt wait too long because i lost 3 hammer corals because i thought my bta will move but he hasn't moved for 5 weeks and i had him 6 weeks ago so i ended up moving my hammer elsewhere

Alright, you guys scared me into it, lol. The BTA pretty much remained where it was. The torch coral seemed fine, except the polyps closest to the BTA remained tucked in while all the others fully extended. I moved him over a bit so now hopefully all polyps will extend.

as for hosting, the clown now sleeps in the BTA at night and we often catch him playing in the tentacles :) so at least that part went as planned

How long has your tank been up and running, it looks too new for an anemone.

we just upgraded to t5s, so it had been fish only until recently

It is just that anemones don't do well in newer tanks, they need mature systems. The clean white rocks say new but maybe I'm wrong.
