Hey guys and gals my name is Josh and Ive been into aquariums since I was a kid from freshwater tanks to brackish to my late 37 gallon puffer tank (RIP).But back in November we decided to buy a 100 gallon saltwater tank with oceanic reef ready sump 4 t12 vho lights overflow built in and drilled. Well shortly after we filled it with saltwater and threw 80lbs worth of live rock and sand in the tank the lights popped and caught the hood on fire. Didn't do much damage to the tank besides our water chemistry never becoming stable it seemed like every few weeks the tank would cycle again and crash. So we decided on to bigger and better and scrapped it ( well its still in the corner ).
So we bought a 5ft x 20 x 18 100 gallon with a eshopps hang on overflow box , trigger 30 gallon crystal sump, sicce sump pump, two radion xr30w, stand canopy....we just set the tank up on Saturday and its started its cycle with 80 lbs of live rock for now ( going to add 50 more).. But we are at a stand still on protein skimmer here are my choices and tell me what you think I don't want to skimp on this tank needs to be all the trick stuff.
1. Quanum Nyos 120
2. Reef Octopus 150 int regal
3. Reef Octopus 150sss
out of the 3 which do you guys like the most or name off some good ones of your own always open for opinion...now we do have size restriction...
