Hi people, I have a new 14g biocube I started about 12 days ago!
I used LR and water from my 4yr old 55g tank . The tank had a mild spike and came right back downin less than 3 days . Iwas so anxious i went out and bought a some button polyps and a perc. clown! Both are doing great ! On day 10 i bought some Green star polyps after placing they opened within 2 hours and stayed open all night and were open when i left for work! when i got home all were closed !
Checked all my parameters They were perfect! nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia were all 0. pH was 8.4 salinity where it should be. calcium 480.
I noticed a small brown area with a fungus or film, you can see in the photo near the red coraline.
it was close to the light ,so i just moved to mid level!
i have pc lighting w/ 48 watts at the LFS it was MH lighting!

is this shock? what should i do?

sorry here are the photos

Green star polops are ALMOST indestructible. they WILL take over your hole tank. they WILL kill all other corals they touch they WILL incrust into the rock and are almost impossible to remove. DO NOT place it next to another rock that you dont want encrusted. It took me 3 years to get rid of that stuff (live & learn) I lost a lot of corals to it. leathers & sps alike. It is considerd a weed in most places altho very pretty when open. --BEWARE

Mine did the same thing. Opened for the first day, and have been closed since. I've only had them in for alittle over a week. Today I noticed a few just starting to open. I'm hoping what they say is true and they'll come around and be indestructable. I'm alittle worried now about the spreading and if they are truly difficult to remove from places you don't want them, but we'll see. I just want them to open right now. Let us know whether yours do.

yes , mine opened a couple of days later! they look great on some days and sparse on others. Can't figure it out , maybe just part of the aclimation process.
