This is my first time of making my own saltwater. Wondering what the best method is.
Fill Brute to desired level. Add Pump and Heater. Add Prime?
Add salt.
How often should you check the salinity. How long does the water need to sit (10 minutes overnight)
All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I always start with RO/DI in a brute can add recommended cups of salt to gallons of water. Then add pump I use a mag 7 puts out enough heat when lid is on can, no need for heater then. check in the morning for salinity. The trick is to leave enough room to add RO/DI if too high salinity. if you are going to be mixing this much water all the time need to get a Refractometer $30 - $40 and worth it.

What's prime? Im hungry.. You are making me think of prime rib! Stop it! :D

The only wrong way to do it (the way I first started doing it) is to add the salt first and THEN the water!

Personally I add the salt last. And I don't add it all at once. That gives it a chance to dissolve and reduce any areas of higher than normal salinity which will cause stuff to precipitate.

OK, time to go home and eat dinner. Wish I had some prime rib!

Thanks Jack figured it out now. was wondering what plumbing had to do with mixing water
