Newbie stopping in to say hello.

Hello all! My name is Tom and i joined to hopefully learn about how to successfully establish a reef tank of my own. I don't have anything set up now and I honestly don't know when I will, but from everything I've learned during my 1 failed attempt at a salt water aquarium in 2012, is planning and patience is key. I did plenty of research but still rushed things and tried to cut corners, not realizing actually how important the corners were that I was cutting. 1st step is to get my own ro/di filters, (used tap before). I might as well say that I had an algae tank instead of a saltwater tank... I have an idea of what I want in the tank so I'll be planning with the inhabitants I want in mind other than just setting something up in a hurry an then figuring out what I can put in there. Well I feel like I'm rambling at this point. Hopefully I can gather everything I need in a timely manner and get a tank cycling by this summer. Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated. there is a sticky at the top of the forum called setting up, look for the big red arrow. It is full of good info.

Thanks, already gone through those, lol, but I'm sure I'll be revisiting them often. After I finished lurking through all the great information included in the sticky's, I decided to join the forum. I figured it was the least I can do since I've already been obtaining valuable information from here.

We'll walk you through set-up if needed. Most of all decide on what you want to keep, and be sure you get the right size and type of tank: we can advise in that, too.

I appreciate it, good luck to you as well WatDatThing. Part of the agreement with my better half on attempting a reef tank again, is she wants a green wolf eel... She saw one at a chain pet store we were at and thought it was "cute" (her words) I'm trying to research now what kind of fish can I get that will be safe from the eel and wont bother coral, which I want. I want to stay away from zoa's or any fish that that can put me in a hospital as well...
