Newbie to this thread has PICS

3 mp isn't bad :) . I think my camera is 10 mp, but I get decent shots with the camera in my phone. lol.
THanks again for the pictures :) !

Are you going to dive around here to keep up with the hobby or wait until you can hit ocean water :P ?

My husband and I might check out the local lakes... We are planning a trip to Belize in the near future... Do not know if it will be this summer (Aug) or upcoming winter but within the year.... not sure yet.... we have family down in FL so we occasionally go down there and dive...

The camera was great... the last time we were in FL we got it wet though... I had some great pics too ...we were snorkeling and my husband got a shot of me next to a manatee.... wish I had that one.

That sounds really fabulous :) . We were talking about moving to NC (still may).

Does your camera work with an underwater housing? Sucks that it got wet, oh my! I love manatees, it would of been a fabulous pic!

Seems like WOW lets volunteers come and scuba in their tank. I tried to use this as a reason to go ahead and get certified. :P Hubby doesn't like the idea of me diving with sharks :P . Might be easy to get pictures of though! LOL .

That is really neat. That is the place next to basspro right? We haven't ventured in there yet... but that seems like it would be a neat thing. I am going to have to ask about that. Scuba is awesome... if you got to NC, will you be near any lakes or coasts? If so, then you might want to consider it....very fun hobby.

No, the camera doesn't. I used to work at a computer shop a while back and I got the camera for real cheap through a promotions type sale... I had no idea it would work as well as it it. We want to get a camera though that we can use with a casing...thats prob going to wait a while though.

I do plan on getting certified to dive. The arrangement was that DH had to come with or let me ditch him on dive days. :) Everything has been on hold with the children being born though, our son is almost 23 months and I am just getting my tank back up.

If you all want in free to WOW sometime, the kids and I go all the time. We have two guest passes on our cards, but you don't have to stay with us. :P

I think Wilmington would of been a possible scuba spot. Housing tends to 15 minutes from a beach and the area had nice parks. Raleigh or Charlotte both had better fish tank stores, but are farther from the coast. Hubby does videography, independent film directing, and editing on AVID/FCP. So the catch is to find a job that pays enough to make it worth the move :P .

Well, a camera real cheap is always a plus :) .

Do you know what the lighting requirements for frogspawn are, btw? I'd love to get some for whatever clown we do get :P .

We have had frogspawn in numerous tanks that we have had... medium lighting and moderate flow have always worked for us. If we frag our frog then I will let you know. I absolutely love frogspawn..always have..:-) They are so much easier to keep then anemone's. Not all clowns will host in them though. Our maroon doesn't host in it...but our perc's from a long time ago hosted in one... so I guess it is give or take.

Congrats on your baby! I can imagine it is difficult to do that and keep up with the saltwater hobby.

I am trying to get my hubby to go to WOW tomorrow...thanks for the passes though.. I am really interested in doing the volunteer thing bc its a good way to keep your skills up. I looked that up on the net and it seems really interested to do.

I have been to Wilmington..years ago...it is really close to beaches so I am sure you would find some decent offshore diving. I haven't been to the other places though.

Good luck with the WOW tomorrow. :) I hope you like the tour :) . If you don't get a chance to make it by, I imagine that they would have the number if you called.

I am glad Wilmington would likely be decent diving. Maybe we can get certified for our anniversary, modern five year gifts include those of metal.

Thanks for the information on the frog spawn. :)

pictures look great. I wish I would have got some frog from the last frag meet. I hope there is some this time!

PS0305:

That WOW place is awesome... we filled out our volunteer apps and everything :-). Thanks for all the great info.

I even stopped by the Aquatics and Exotics but they were closed... that was a bummer since I live in Lebanon... Maybe next time.

Woo-hoo! I am glad you all liked WOW and got your apps filled out. I hope there is a time that works out for you :) to go dive. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Hopefully, you can catch the fish store next time. I know the drive over from Lebanon isn't easy!

I was able to stop by the store today! He has some really nice livestock!

There is a lot of paperwork to fill out for the volunteer scuba....it will be worth it though :-)

You dont really need to worry about sand tigers and brown sharks. I have been in the water with black tips and around bulls. I almost got my hand taken off by a black tip trying to eat my DO meter.

Hey, I'm glad you liked the store.

It is logical that there would be a lot of paper work :) . We are going to WOW tomorrow with my little ones and some of their friends.

nah I figure they are fed so well that I have no need to worry.....that sounds like a crazy adventure about the black tip though... where was that at Fewells?

I hope you have fun PS0305... that place is so neat... I bet its a great place to take the kids!

We had a great time. :) The kids were disappointed that the jelly fish were down. I took 397 pictures this afternoon, so there are a lot of good ones to edit.

One woman brought a five month old baby with her. The little girl really needs some knit baby rattle/stuffed toys in the shape of marine fish, I can just tell. :)
