i just put some phytoplankton 3 times a week in a high flow area and they can eat what they catch or what nutrients they absorb from the water
i don't know if it helps with growth though. i think stable water parameters and good lighting help with growth more then anything else.
I like to feed rotifers. They seem to be cleaner food then Phytoplankton which seems to grow a lot of algae. However, I do also feed Phyto but in much less quantity.
In all reality your zoos just need good lighting and good flow... Occasionally I feed my rotifers mixed with cyclopeeze, but it makes a mess... Some people have recorded good growth and color when feeding others say good lights and no food...
