Newly described angel on DD

Hmmm, interesting. Sorry Gustavo. Maybe they somehow lost the fish or it is not ready to ship? However usually if the fish is sick they notify you and try and set up an alternative ship date.

Just to clarify, this was considered a color morph of the Vermiculated angel (Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus) for a long time, but Jack Randall always suspected it was a different species. I teamed up with Jack and did a genetic analysis that revealed that they are in fact very different genetically, and we also found some consistent (albeit small) morphological differences that made us decide it was a different species.

But what really sealed the deal was that a friend of ours (John Earle) did a lot of observations in Raja Ampat, where these two forms co-occur, and he didn't find a single mixed pair, mesoleucus always with mesoleucus and poliourus always with poliourus. I also sequenced DNA from specimens of the two species collected at Raja, and even there the genetic divergence is maintained.

Luiz, do you really use the qiagen kits or is it just easier to cite that phenol/chlorofom?
