Where is comradery gentlemen? I know we have a small community but thats no reason for us to let it die. Maybe we need to get a meet or just some discussion on whats new in your tanks or the hobby?

Anyone hear of the new LFS opening this month? Pretty excited!

I'm prepping for the first time to drill the sump and put in a bulkhead and do either rigid pvc or flex pvc to an external return pump. I'm also running the output of the pump to a can filter w/ carbon then back to main return also tee'd off and reduced to a fludized bed and chiller. I could use some help drilling the acrylic if anybody is particularly knowledgeable.

2 new posts in the same day. Thats crazy. lol I know a lot of people have gotten rid of there setups but there are still enough of us locally to make it viable.

I tore down my tank, killed about 90% of my corals, and put it back together in a rather hasty manner... lesson learned the hard way: crushed coral sucks as a substrate.

not been a good week :\

On the up side, I can rebuild it better this time around...

Hey guys its been a little while ..SG drilling acrylic is very easy..if you need help let me know (i do get off later in the eve. though) ..use a paddle/spade bit or hole saw bit.(spade bit is a lot cleaner)..if you want to you can use my standup press (you dont really need to but if you want to )..
New lfs cool sounds like where Hanauma used to be (you old school salties know).
wow I'm curious to see who is behind it,,

DaZarge and xmen. I took my tank to Dwight's Glass on Lomas and had them drill 2 holes for me. They charged me $8 and had it done in a day.

I am also looking for a way to hang my current 36" light fixture. The ceiling or back wall isn't really a possibility, so looking to make/have made some kind of fixture so I can hang and raise/lower the light above the tank. Any ideas? I know AquaticLife make a universal stand, but was seeing if anyone had ideas?

Seems like making an "L" bracket that connects to the back of your stand and hangs over your tank is becoming more and more popular. Looks pretty clean IMO.
