I moved out to California a couple of months ago, and finally got around to setting up a new 120g. As a result, I would like to start attending some of your meetings, and frag swaps. I would also appreciate it if someone could tell me when and where the activities take place. Is there an fee? Are frags up for sale or just for trade? Answers are appreciated and hope to see some of you guys soon!

Come on out next Friday the 19th. We'll be doing some water testing, hydrometer calibration/comparison to a refractometer, and comparing results of different test kits for the purpose of determining accuracy.

We meet at the Round Table Pizza (nothing to do with the name of the club) next to Ace hardware on the old Ralph's shoping center.

Not trying to hijack, but since we are on the subject...
Should I bring my refractometer to the meeting? I have the new Sybon from Premium Aquatics, and also an old Coralife hydrometer...I could bring both, I've seen the comparison, and boy am I glad to have the refractometer now, but if nobody else is bringing either of these testers I would gladly bring mine. Also I have a new digital TDS meter, (since I won that really cool RO/DI at the WMC) been itching to see it in action too(haveing a hard time finding a place to install said RO/DI)so I could bring it as well.

I'll get it done this week and see if I can get some of the stds verified if we are running the tests this week. The test kits don't require the sample to be saltwater do they? I think most work of the test kits work on both salt and fresh. It's just that for the phosphate, nitrate, and nitrite I can't put a saltwater matrix onto the IC's... the chloride and sulfate would blow the instrument away. However, I might be able to run a saltwater matrix for the nitrate/nitrite via colormetric. I'm makeing new saltwater for my tank today, I'll use this as some source water. I guess the only tests I can't get in saltwater and verified will be ammonia and phoshate.

Can someone give me a range for the Phosphate...I don't have this kit, so I don't know what typicall test range is for it.
