Next SFVR meeting

Hello everyone, I am planning the next SFVR meeting and I would like to see who is interested in coming and what date and time you are available.

I would like to have it on November the 7th at the Shakey's in Northridge at 6pm. Let me know if this woks for you or if you owuld prefer another time and date. Also if you are not on our email list and would like to be please contact me.

For those of you who do not know what SFVR is, the San Fernando Valley Reefers is a club located in the San Fernando Valley area with members in surrounding areas as well. Our goal is to create a greater sense of community among reef aquarium enthusiasts in the San Fernando Valley area and surrounding parts. We have meetings, hold events and plan group buys for savings on shipping and there are some other benefits to being a member as well.

I won't be able to make that. I have a conflict. My son has a baseball game that evening at 7 or 7:30 in Santa Clarita and I am the coach. Sorry

Lunch on Nov 7th (say, 1pm?) would be better for me, but maybe we should use the RC poll feature to determine the time with the best turnout? Just an idea...

The evening works best for me. Can we set the date and time soon? This meeting is scheduled to ocur in only a few weeks and the longer it takes to finalize the less people can plan. There's no way you can schedule a meeting that will work for everyone.

Unfortunately we can't accommodate everyone but if we make it a consistent first Saturday of every month So everyone have time to make plans. It should be better for everyone

I agree with Jeff. I know that we cannot accommodate everyone's schedule and I tried to pick a date and time that would cater to what most people's schedules are like. I cannot put off this meeting for any longer as it is imperative that we meet soon. I will have someone take minutes from the meeting and send it out to all of you who could not make it.

During this meeting we will be conducting an informal election to select members as officers with responsibilities. I outlined these responsibilities in the group email so if you are not on the email list please let me know.

The responsibilities that I need people to take up are as follows:
-Website design and maintenance
-Sponsor representative (to get more sponsors and deal with existing sponsors)
-Event planning
-Membership fees, cards and t-shirts
-Event promoter

My girlfriend and I are working on the new website already. I have already paid the fees for the domain name and the server but if you are a web designer please contact me as I might need some help.

If you are not able to make it but are interested in taking up one of the responsibilities just let me know and I can bring it up during the meeting.

If you cannot make the meeting let me know and if you would like to be an officer contact me and I will represent you during the meeting. Not being able to show up to the meeting does not mean that you are not a part of the decision making. You just have to communicate with the club via emails or this forum.
