NEXT STEP, I mean trouble

well last night i was thinking something about something, just thru intuition. And yes i havent done water changes for a while. but with a clean tank, fat happy fish, good coral growth and color, full refugium, light feeding for 2 weeks and skimming wet for a few days. Nitrates are actually at 20-40ppm. 40 if you let the test settle for a long time. So what i realize my skimmer is not gonna be up to par now. Enough fish and lots more corals will do this. but this was an afterthought this far, imagine in 6 more months of growth. So for now ill do some water changes but a major change might have to come next, i didnt start this to not have a tank full of corals. :headwalls:

one step at a time man, start doing one 20gal change every week. That should work, If it still persists then start thining down your fish stock

yup. but im telling you im not gonna be doing that many water changes for long. might as well not have a skimmer. haha. big tang is going next and still brainstorming about the rest.

says 150 but i was giving it a bit more. I got rid of a couple pieces of coral and gonna try and get the vlamingi tang out of it next. did a small water change but might just keep it cleaner stocked for now and see what the heck to do next, cleanly stocked aka less stuff will still look nice but i wanted a fully stocked tank.

Drill it! Install a sump/fuge. Get rid of that skimmer and get a bigger one.

or

Start dosing vodka.

as of now nitrates are lower, gonna get the big tang out this week. and keep it simple. might mess with led's. and if not get a bigger tank with big skimmer. be the same cost as if drilling this one with a sump.

Looks like everything will be for sale next. hate to do it to you guys again with my whirlwind year, but i get one shot at getting a big a$$ skimmer, sump, leds and probably on a bigger tank. I cant have 2 tanks and there are definately pieces i would like to keep so if they dont sell i will gladly keep. Ill work on this in the next couple of days. any thoughts are welcome as always.

probably not, since i doubt every coral i have is gonna sell. but the plan as of now is just setting up the whole thing. so depending on how much cash flow is produced will determine the lighting. if there are corals it wont be full like i have now. and there wont be a huge amount of rock either.
