It would be nice to have some input from the members on things they want to do next year we have 9 - 10 depending if we meet in June or not this is what we do every year

Frag workshop

round Table / Garage sale

christmas Party

Frag Swap

That leaves 5 meeting we need to fill and it would be great to have your input after all it is your club

Hi,

How about a Members tank presentation done on CD? I will help set-up & co-ordinate. Each member gets a few minutes if they wish to talk about their tank or they would not even have to be there(just send in some pictures on a CD or email).

Is there any shot to changing the day from friday to a day during the week. I would love to attend but I have so many commitments on the weekends.

We used to have meetings on Thursdays and it was too hard for most people to get home so late, acclimate corals and then get to work on Friday. I think we have much better turnout with the meetings on Friday's.

Hi All,

I agree, I think the Friday meetings are a good idea. Some people can't make them from time to time but much better than Thursday due to the Friday work thing.

Dave

i would love to come to but my work schedules not letting me do the friday thing. what about doing a thursday friday rotation every other week.

I would like to see more workshops as well. Maybe a C-SEA cookout/meeting at a members house which I would be willing to host.

I would like to good presentation on the different care practices for different coral familys Softies LPS SPS ect. get different point of views on what work well and so on ... just an idea i like to suck info out of anyone willing to give up there secrets ...lol

Sean

maybe include in that presentation on what to feed those coral families or just the reef in general, including some specific coverage on specific foods.

How about continuing the Reefkeeping 101 meeting? That seemed to go over pretty well.

ditto
But how about a 301 (more advanced stuff too) level as well.

I was just thinking the same thing. If we are going to have a basics, let's do an advanced as well.

Randy would be very interesting. Personally, I think that would cover the 301 category.

I do like the idea of a virtual tank tour. It would give everyone the opportunity to show off their system without burning up a ton of gas going from house to house.

The Auction idea - That sounds nice if a CORA member could expand on the details of how they make it work.

The Reefkeeping 101: This would be a good annual topic

The Reefkeeping 301: This would be best done with a specialized guest speaker I like the idea

Virtual Tank tour: Sounds like a nice filler if nothing else comes up

I personally liked the LED light talk that was done, I would like to see an annual guest speaker about different technologies like that.

When it comes to speakers you've got to look at the big picture. 10 years ago when we had a few speakers a year there wasn't a fraction of the amount of clubs like there is today. Back then we'd play for the flight, dinner and hotel...Now theres honorariums too.

Lets just say theres 300 saltwater fish clubs in the states. and say 20 or so speakers that each club would like to have.
What are the chances the Cleveland club is going to have to book those speakers. Seeing as we've had most speakers come in the past 10 years too.
If I was a speaker and I had the choice between, California, Florida, Texas and Cleveland.... Where would be my last choice to speak?

We don't have as many speakers anymore, not due to lack of trying, Its due to ,no phone calls returned, no emails returned, Im booked solid, I can only speak once a month and I can't fit you in ect.

This is just a little behind the scenes information that most probably don't know when it comes to meetings.

The club can afford to have a speaker every month, but we just can't book them, they don't want to come when theres so many clubs out there that they haven't already spoken at or have a warmer more vacation like quality to them.

Our hobby has exploded over the past ten years.
