I was down my lfs on the weekend, I literally just went to pick up some calcium supplement when I spotted one of the nicest magnifica anemones I've seen in a while it had just arrived the day before, so as I'm sure often happens to many of us I totally forgot to pick up the calcium and left with the magnifica (don't worry I made a return trip for the calcium)! I live in the UK and honestly I think we get the bum end when it comes to nice anemones, the only mags I've seen recently are peachy/red with occasionally green tips and usually not very healthy!
This one has very dark purple tentacles with bright gold tips the photos do not do it justice! What I really like about this mag is that it has really fine dense tentacles so almost has the appearance of a gigantea, was a great size too the foot being about 2inches across and the oral plate about 6 inches!
The other nice surprise has been that I initially put in in a hospital tank with my ciprofloxacin to hand, expecting I was going to get deflation cycles and it would need treatment, but after 5 days looking very healthy, nice closed mouth and no deflation I've added it to my display, where I must say it looks amazing! And the clowns moved in within a minute!
