Hey everyone! I used to browse around and mostly lurk on reefcentral if I ever needed answers to something, and was amazed by the knowledge of many of you guys :lmao:

Before I joined the salty side, I had been keeping freshwater fish and was quite experienced in freshwater aquariums, having won a few local aquascaping contests here around the northeastern area. About 4 years ago, I stumbled upon an incredible looking aquarium at one of the aquascaping competitions I went to. Of course, I had no idea what this was but looking back to it, the tank was definitely an SPS dominant system. This triggered something, and I began to research saltwater aquariums. My first aquarium was a 40 gallon breeder with reptile lighting I found at a local petsmart, and I did EVERYTHING wrong in this tank haha. Despite this, I was able to keep a false perc, gramma, and damsel along with a few soft corals and a duncan coral. Eventually, I wanted to start fresh so a year later, I setup a 29 gallon biocube. This tank was quite successful, and it became quite a mixed reef aside from a few issues arising here and there. It was the first truly successful saltwater aquarium I kept, however. Fast forward about 3 years, and I am ready for my next, and hopefully only for a few years.

I finally decided to make an account on this forum, as I have begun planning for my next tank which I aim to setup sometime by the end of this year or beginning of the next. Hopefully its going to be something along the lines of a rimless cube between 40-50 gallons in size. I aim for this tank to be an SPS dominant reef, and will be carrying forward a Reefkeeper controller, MP10, and an AI sol from my old tank. Aside from this, I am looking to purchase everything fresh again. Hopefully I will learn a lot from this forum, and hope you all do the same. In the end, if I've learned anything for this build, its that patience and research go a long way
