Night Time water flow

What do you think about this? At 11 Pm one hour after my blues lights went out (T5s), My power heads shut off untill 7Am. The tank still has flow from the sump, (600 gallons per hr) The tank is a 75RR with Clams, lps, mushrooms, soft corals, sea fans and sun corals. I did this last night and everything seems to look a lot better today.

There's is no reason to cut the flow down at night. Your corals and inverts still need to breath at night and the water flow is good for keeping particles in suspension either for filter feeding, filtration or oxygenating the sand bed.

The reason I did this is because of the tide at night.

Tidal fluctuations are independent of diurnal cycles. The moon, not the sun, is responsible for most of the effect on tides.

It does save some power on electric bill.
Hmm, not when you are just shutting down a couple of powerheads.
