mine does this sometimes as SOON as the lights go off, then about ten minutes later its back to normal.

By the time early morning comes it looks like a taco shell with the clowns foled inside. very sweet.

In the past most of mine have deflated a bit.
My current BTA, that I have only had about 2 weeks, expands much larger at night than it was in the day.

Night, although this is early. It gets bigger than this later on.

phil... thats 1 bta?? In the top pifc it looks like a river of them. the color is strange too, really nice :)

Mine looses it's bubbles at night, looks more like a long tip. It only really seems to defate when expelling waste (is that PC enough? ). :D

I actually have to, one somewhat large and one small. The large one's tentacles just flow in the current and its body is tucked into the side of the rockwork. The smaller sits up on top and reaches up to the lights like a radar dish and really has kind of stubby little tentacles. It settles down on the rock at night. sorry not pics.

Why do some expand bigger at nighttime?

Yes, its just one large BTA (about 7-8" across) that molds itself into the gap between the rocks in the daytime. I actually like the look better than it being all stringy like my other BTAs seemed to get.
The color is different. The invoice to the LFS called it a Flame Rose BTA.
The outer tentacles are green the inner tentacles are hot pink. The very tips of all the tentacle are yellow, but as the yellow mixes with the pink it becomes orange, which make the whole anemone look "cheetos" orange unless you look closely.

well its beautiful. Made me change the way I was planning my next nem. with a new big tank i immediately thought rbta, but maybe Ill wait until a stange one comes thru :D
